Isuzu East Africa (Isuzu EA) has recently solidified its position as a pivotal player in the East African automotive and logistics sectors through two significant partnerships: one with UD Trucks Corporation and another with SGA Security. These collaborations underscore Isuzu EA's commitment to enhancing operational efficiency, expanding regional capacity, and delivering superior service across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
In March 2024, Isuzu EA secured the distributorship rights for UD Trucks in Kenya, marking a strategic expansion of its portfolio. This partnership allows Isuzu EA to handle the assembly, sales, and aftersales support for UD Trucks, including the heavy-duty Quester and medium-duty Croner models.
The collaboration was officially launched in December 2024 with the opening of a new UD Trucks service facility in Mombasa. This facility aims to provide comprehensive support to UD Trucks customers, ensuring seamless operations and fostering growth within the local assembly industry.
On July 17, 2025, Isuzu EA entered into a strategic partnership with SGA Security, a leading security solutions provider in East Africa. Valued at approximately USD 3 million, this collaboration focuses on upgrading SGA's fleet to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery across the region.
Under the agreement, Isuzu EA will supply NMR 85H cab and chassis models, which will be customized into Cash-in-Transit (CIT) and courier vehicles. This initiative aims to support SGA's expanding need for secure and efficient transportation of valuables, starting with deployments in Uganda and Tanzania.
